Grassroots Cycles rolled onto the scene in 2008, fueled by a passion for gravity-fed mountain biking and the desire to create a shop focused on growing a community around bikes. Over the years our backyard digging spot “The Ranch” became the hosting ground for some amazing local events such as Hucktoberfest and Slopesistair, as well as our homegrown freeride event, Ranchstyle! Ranchstyle was one of only a handful of US events on the FMB World Tour and helped put Grand Junction on the map for many international riders. Although the curtain drew closed on Ranchstyle in 2013 the friendships and memories live on!
We moved Grassroots Cycles to our current location in downtown GJ in 2010 and have continued our mission of bringing people together through bikes. In 2022 we opened our in-house eatery Roots Gastrohub, which quickly became the local’s favorite coffee and burrito spot! Our large outdoor patio provides an inviting family and dog-friendly space and is the perfect place to meet up before and after your ride.
